Children & Young Persons Support Workers – for immediate start

Location – London Borough of Lewisham

Pay rate – £11.00 per hour

Full Time/Part time – Guaranteed Variable Hours Contracts Available

Carewatch Lewisham has a well-earned reputation for providing a high-quality care and support service to children and young people in a person-centred manner within the borough.We are now seeking to recruit Children and Young Persons’ Support workers who have a positive and encouraging attitude and who can offer support both within the home and in accessing the local community.The Children and Young people we will support have been diagnosed with special needs, learning and physical disabilities including the Autistic spectrum.

Ideally, we are looking for experienced Children & Young Persons Support Workers, however new support workers will benefit from full bespoke training to address the support needs of each individual to which they are assigned.

The care provision is based in Lewisham Borough with good public transport links so therefore driving is not a requirement of this post, but would be beneficial

Hours Available: FLEXIBLE

Note – All support workers are expected to work weekends

Duties will include:

·Personal care, washing, dressing etc.

·Helping with medication

·Meal preparation

·Supporting children to access the wider community

·Home and family support

·Activities to promote growth & development

·Promoting personal independence

What we look for:

·Experience of supporting / mentoring Children and Young Persons

·Focused, problem solving capabilities

·Excellent Communication skills (both written & verbal)

·Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team

·A good understanding of professional boundaries

·Knowledge of children’s safeguarding
