Carewatch has a well-earned reputation for providing a high quality care and support service to children and young people in a person centred manner within the borough. We are now seeking to recruit Children and Young Persons’ Support workers who have a positive and encouraging attitude and who can offer support both within the home and in accessing the local community. The Children and Young people we will support have been diagnosed with a wide range of medical conditions, special needs, learning and physical disabilities including the autistic spectrum.

Ideally, we are looking for experienced Children & Young Persons Support Workers, however new support workers will benefit from full bespoke training to address the support needs of each individual to which they are assigned.

Hours Available:
• Days
• Pre-school and after school
• Evenings
• School Holidays
• Respite

Note – All support workers are expected to work some weekends

Duties will include:
• Personal care, washing, dressing etc.
• Helping with medication
• Meal preparation
• Home and family support
• Supporting children to access the wider community
• Promoting personal independence
• Activities to promote growth & development

What we look for:
• Experience of supporting / mentoring Children and Young Persons or willingness to undertake the necessary training
• Focused, problem solving capabilities
• Excellent Communication skills (both written & verbal)
• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team
• A good understanding of professional boundaries
• Knowledge of children’s safeguarding
• Person Centred, with a compassionate, calm and understanding nature
• Flexible and adaptable
• Enthusiastic & energetic

The care provision is based in Merton and Kingston Boroughs with good public transport links so therefore driving isn’t a requirement of this post, but would be beneficial
